Description – What's the position about?
As a Product/Application Engineer or Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for providing engineering support for the range of special application machines we offer in the market. You will lead and/or support the development and operation of special application machines to enhance and improve our DIEU product offering. This includes supporting engineering activities such as research, review, calculations, approvals, inquiries, and leading local development projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead projects that create added business value for the company and communicate results to the leadership team.
Actively share advanced technologies and new application business opportunities identified in the EU market with HQ while supporting new projects to update HQ's product planning and engineering organization.
Support current business operations and management to maintain a healthy and profitable business.
What You'll Do
Field/Dealer Support for Special Application Machines
• Provide technical and commercial support to dealers and sales managers.
• Conduct product training for special application machines.
Product/Technological Opportunities for Special Application Machines
• Define new product requirements.
• Propose innovations.
• Identify potential suppliers/partners available in the market.
• Conduct follow-up surveys on competitor products and their innovations.
• Define and compare product performance and main specifications to ensure competitiveness in the market.
• Perform overall feasibility reviews for new application business/models.
New Product (Special Machines) Development
• Monitor and report progress on development and commercial launch plans, including configuration, options, functions, and system information based on company engineering guidance.
• Prepare launch materials, including technical brochures.
• Ensure effective communication and information exchange between suppliers and internal teams.
• Detail project planning and reviews for engineering components.
• Facilitate engineering operations, ensuring necessary information is exchanged between HQ, suppliers, and the company.
• Create summary documents for parts and systems information, along with training materials in collaboration with suppliers and engineering considerations.
Special Application Machine Business/Project Operations
• Oversee production and engineering progress with OEM suppliers.
• Follow up on requests, primarily related to engineering and product issues.
• Support operations, including parts delivery and base machine supply, with assistance from related colleagues.
• Address and resolve issues and troubles as they arise.
• Provide support for AM OEM business related to special machines.
Technical Responsibilities
• You will be responsible for the technical definition of special application machines (such as demolition, material handlers, tunneling, waste, and recycling machines, etc.).
Your work will primarily consist of:
• Verifying that the special machine systems, specifications, and performance fit and operate correctly on our machines through calculations, 3D modeling, and testing.
• Investigating and verifying, in collaboration with suppliers (ODM), that the machine complies with current regulations (regulations review).
• Communicating specific dimensions to suppliers to ensure their modifications fit and perform correctly on our machines (3D models or drawings).
• Sharing technical information with other departments to prepare the commercial and aftermarket documents required for product launches.
• Keeping track of design changes and communicating updates to relevant teams.
• Supporting and collaborating with Product Managers for special applications and attachment tools based on engineering knowledge and calculations.
Occasionally, you may be required to perform specific or one-time engineering calculations to assist a dealer or customer.
Step by step, you will assume responsibility for the complete validation plan of special application machines for one type of machine or more.
Requirements or Qualifications
Education
• University graduate in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
• Over 2 years of experience in an industrial environment
Knowledge & Skills
• Proficient in SAP
• Knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and/or electrical/electronic systems
• CAD skills
• Working knowledge of the manufacturing process
• Fluent in English
• Proficiency in any other European language is a plus
• Excellent IT skills (MS Office, etc.)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Familiarity with international global companies
