A New Era Begins in the DACH Region
Develon CEO Seunghyun Oh opens new location in Mannheim
On Saturday, April 5, the new Develon location in Mannheim was ceremoniously opened in bright sunshine. Andreas M. Lohner, Managing Director Germany and Sales Manager for the DACH region, rolled out the red carpet and was able to welcome Develon CEO Seunghyun Oh, who had travelled from Korea, as well as Christian Specht, Lord Mayor of the City of Mannheim and Alexander Adler, CEO of the ADLER Immobilien Investment Group. With the new location, the company is moving even closer to its customers and underpinning its clear commitment to Germany and the DACH region as a business location with its continuous investments.
Realization of a vision
In his speech, Seunghyun Oh recalled his visit to Mannheim on the occasion of the groundbreaking ceremony: "This moment marked the beginning of a vision, a commitment to progress and growth. Today, we are realizing this vision – a completed project and a milestone for our company and the Develon brand."
In less than a year of construction, a state-of-the-art new building for the sale, service, rental and spare parts service of construction machinery has been built on a plot of almost 11,000 m² at Lembacher Straße 30. The location in the immediate vicinity of the A 656 Mannheim–Heidelberg includes a state-of-the-art service workshop for the maintenance and repair of construction machinery from 1 to 100 t, including a washing area, on an area of over 1,000 m². Furthermore, the site has offices for administration and product management as well as its own training and further education workshop including training rooms, a showroom and a test and demonstration site for Develon's innovations.
Partner of customers: "This new, state-of-the-art site is more than just a building. It symbolizes: Our commitment to strengthening our presence in Germany. The creation of over 40 new jobs that contribute to the economic vitality of the region. Our commitment to be a trusted partner for our customers, a driving force for the region, and a responsible neighbor for the community. Our next steps to be closer to our customers in order to develop further innovations together," said Oh, highlighting that they want to be a reliable partner for their customers and want to develop further innovations together with them. He described the Mannheim site as a strategic hub and base camp for engineers and product managers from Korea and all over Europe, "to listen carefully to our customers and develop solutions that are tailored to regional needs."
Seunghyun Oh addressed words of thanks to the city of Mannheim, especially Lord Mayor Christian Specht, for the support and goodwill during the entire construction phase. Develon hopes to further deepen relations in the coming years. Specht was pleased about the creation of over 40 new jobs, which contribute to the economic vitality of the region. Further thanks went to the ADLER Immobilien Investment Group as the project developer. "Their seamless collaboration and commitment, led by CEO Alexander Adler, have been instrumental in bringing this vision to life. Their commitment to making this project as environmentally friendly as possible reflects our shared responsibility for a sustainable future."
Alexander Adler said: "With the construction of the Develon headquarters in Mannheim for the region, we have jointly implemented a forward-looking project. This state-of-the-art property combines innovation, efficiency and sustainability and stands for our success as a partnership."
Sensational team performance
In January 2025, Develon received the keys to ADLER's new location. In February, offices, service facilities and workshops were set up at Lembacher Straße 30, at the same time the temporary location was successfully closed and business operations began in the new premises at the end of February. "All of this was achieved without customers having to wait for a long time. A sensational achievement by the Develon team in Mannheim,"said Mr. Seunghyun Oh and thanked the employees: "It is their passion, commitment and expertise that fill the Develon brand and our motto 'Develop Onwards ́ with life every day. They are the driving force behind making visions come true and successfully implementing them."
The service technicians of the dealers Atlas Hannover, EBAG and SK Baumaschinen, were the very first to inaugurate the modern training rooms and the training workshop, followed by many other dealers from the DACH region, who had arrived with their employees for several days of training and in preparation for bauma. In total, more than 130 participants were trained by Develon in March.
After the world's largest trade fair in Munich, bauma 2025, in which Develon participates, part of the Develon bauma exhibition will be relocated to Mannheim, so that our dealers can invite customers to come here to experience and try out our innovations for themselves.
