Develon Announces World Firsts at Bauma 2025

As part of the company’s first appearance at Bauma, Develon, formerly Doosan Construction Equipment, is announcing several world firsts at the show. They include the premiere of the Next Generation ‘-9’ crawler excavators alongside Real X, the next stage in Autonomous working from Develon. This is complemented by the announcement of a new groundbreaking agreement with Holcim Inc., a global leader in innovative and sustainable building materials. Develon is also announcing a new partnership agreement with ATLAS GmbH, a leading manufacturer of cranes, wheeled, crawler and rail-road excavators, and of material handlers in various weight and performance categories.

New Next Generation -9 Models

Two new smart heavy crawler excavators are being revealed for the first time in Europe at a special ceremony on the Develon stand. The 23 tonne DX230LC-9 crawler excavator is part of the static display and the 26 tonne DX260LC-9 model is showng its paces in the demonstration area throughout Bauma.

These Next Generation -9 models combine the ten ground-breaking technologies listed below and redefine/set new industry standards in productivity, safety and operator convenience. With the -9 range, Develon is aiming to set a new standard for future products and technologies in construction equipment.

  • Smart All-Around Viewing Monitor (SAVM)
  • Advanced Lift Assist
  • E-Stop
  • Virtual Wall
  • 2D Machine Guidance
  • Smart Control
  • Breaker Assist
  • Auto Breaker
  • Weighing Assist
  • Prognostics and Health Management (PHM)

Develon and Autonomous Working

At Bauma, Develon’s trail-blazing journey with Autonomous Operation is continuing with ‘Real X’, which allows the latest smart Develon crawler excavators to carry out a full suite of autonomous tasks including trenching, bulk earthwork and truck-loading. Real X utilises Develon’s expertise in AI-powered excavation and construction equipment technology to accelerate the development of safe, productive, sustainable and predictive autonomous excavation solutions.

Customers will benefit from increased productivity and predictability through faster and more consistent cycle times and user interface that will allow for more efficient task communication and real-time reporting. With a 30% improvement in output for trenching, bulk earthwork and truck-loading, the customer will receive a technology return on investment of 100% or more.

Real X is the result of an agreement between HD Hyundai Xitesolution (HDX), the holding company for HD Hyundai Infracore and its Develon brand, with Gravis Robotics AG. HDX and Gravis Robotics are collaborating to implement jointly developed autonomous technology using Develon’s equipment.

Revolutionary Safety with Transparent Bucket

Develon is showing the Transparent Bucket 2.0 (TB2.0) system, an advanced safety and visibility system for the company’s wheel loaders, for the first time at Bauma. Designed to eliminate blind spots, TB2.0 improves both operator safety and jobsite efficiency.

Traditional wheel loaders create blind spots in front of the machine due to the raised bucket, posing serious safety risks. The Develon Transparent Bucket solves this problem by using high-tech front-mounted cameras to create a real-time see-through effect on the cab monitor. This gives the operator a clear view of the obstructed area, ensuring greater awareness and precision when handling materials such as aggregates, sand and soil.

Unique Electric Wheeled Excavator Concept from Develon

The DX140WRE electric wheeled excavator concept from Develon being shown at Bauma is the most advanced, state-of-the-art machine of its kind. This electric wheeled excavator is designed with a regenerating drive system (eDrive), advanced swing system (eSwing) and eWorking systems to ensure maximum efficiency with zero emissions. The DX140WRE is intended to excel in urban environments, offering a compact and very versatile design. The DX140WRE combines this with enhanced visibility, increased stability and mobility to ensure increased safety on urban sites and in challenging conditions.

Built with a streamlined design, the DX140WRE maximises peripheral vision over long distances for optimum safety and security. Offering the driver a full 360° of line of sight around the machine, the DX140WRE can easily detect obstacles from any angle and in any urban environment. Equipped with an Around View Monitor (AVM), the DX140WRE provides a full-screen projection of the machine’s journey and surroundings.

Electric Excavators

Along with the DX20ZE-7 (canopy) mini-excavator, which was the first mass-produced electric powered excavator manufactured by Develon, is another electric mini-excavator, the brand new DX23E-7. This model which is due to be launched later this year features a spacious cab and is powered by an in-house developed 32 kWh/40 kWh lithium ion battery pack option, with all electrical systems and components on the machine optimized for work in harsh environments. Both the DX20ZE-7 and DX23E-7 offer excellent solutions for companies working in sensitive areas where low noise or night time work is essential.

Range Expansions

Develon is also presenting several new models that extend current ranges and/or offer new advances and features. These include the new DX25Z-7 mini-excavator, which offers customers a new lower weight option in the range, providing a reduction in terms of operating and transport costs, in particular.

Develon is also showing the new DX165W-7K and DX190W-7K models, demonstrating several new features and options for the company’s wheeled excavator range. Similarly, the DL220-7 wheel loader is being shown to display new features and options for the company’s award-winning DL-7 wheel loader range.
