RDW Type Approval: A Game-Changer
in Dutch Machine Transport

The NL-Typegoedkeuringscertificaat voor een Mobiele Machine is the official certification by RDW (Rijksdienst voor het Wegverkeer) confirming that a mobile machine model meets all national road safety and environmental regulations.

With this approval:

Each certified machine can be registered for road use without individual testing
Registration is fast and online – no machine inspection required
Some dealer-installed options (like tires or trailer hitches) are already included
You save time, hassle, and avoid delivery delays

Competitors without type approval must still perform single-unit testing, causing delivery delays and added costs. Develon is among the first OEMs to complete this process for its entire wheeled excavator line, following a 2+ year effort with assembly audits, factory testing, and support from Staad.
